Website Accessibility

WCAG, ADA, & Section 508 Compliance

Free Consultation

The web is for everyone, including those with vision, hearing, and mobility impairments. Federally funded websites are required to be accessible under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, but now all websites may be subject to accessibility compliance under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) due to a 2019 Supreme Court ruling.

Automated & Human Testing

We use a combination of automated testing against Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and human testing to gauge the accessibility of your website. Automated testing can rapidly identify issues and recommend solutions, but human testing is required for more complicated series of tasks – like ordering a pizza. Accessibility (“A117”) issues are logged and rated by severity and frequency.

Remediation

Along with each WCAG are recommendations for conformance. Remediation can range from a minor code or content change to a major rework of key features in order be compliant. In general all websites should strive for Level AA of WCAG conformance for ADA compliance.
